March 13, 2023

Dear Parents:

During the week of May 22-May 25 Strayer Middle School will be conducting its 49th annual Outdoor School program for the seventh grade.  Outdoor School will take place at Camp Nockamixon near Kintnersville, PA and is a two-day, one-night stay.  Students will either go May 22-May 23 or May 24-May 25.

The fee for Outdoor School this year is $90. This fee includes the rental of the entire campground and facilities, four meals and several snacks, transportation to and from the camp, and all materials for day classes and night activities.  Students who do not participate are required to be in school and they will attend regular classes.  You can pay by cash, check, or money order which can be submitted to your child’s period 1A teacher.

A general meeting for parents will be held on Tuesday, March 14th.  There will be a recording of this meeting posted on Strayer’s website.  I will meet with students as the trip gets closer to share more details and organize students into their different groups.  Please note that we need a lot of parent volunteers to run outdoor school.  Next week there will be a sign up posted on App-Garden listing all the opportunities.  Parents will need all of their clearances uploaded into App-Garden before they are allowed to sign up.

Enclosed in this packet you will find papers that need to be signed and returned to your child’s first period Day A teacher if your child is going to attend the Outdoor School program.  If you have any questions, feel free to contact me at 215-529-2325, [email protected], or the office at 215-529-2838.

Sincerely,

Lisa Cravener, ODS Coordinator
