AASA

The Quakertown Community School District is pleased to announce the appointment of Superintendent Dr. Matthew Friedman as one of the Pennsylvania Representatives on the 2025 - 2026 AASA Governing Board.

AASA (formerly the American Association of School Administrators) develops and supports school system leaders through the national exchange of ideas; access to professional learning, publications, and resources; and opportunities to champion initiatives to help transform the future of public education. It serves as the national voice for public education and district leadership on Capitol Hill. As Pennsylvania’s Representative, Dr. Friedman will ensure Pennsylvania schools have a voice within AASA decision-making.

“Being elected to the AASA Governing Board is an incredible honor and responsibility that I don’t take lightly. It provides me with a national platform to advocate for public education, elevate the voices of our students and staff in Quakertown, and bring forward-thinking ideas back to our community. This opportunity strengthens my leadership by connecting me with top educational minds across the country, ensuring that Quakertown remains at the forefront of innovation, equity, and excellence in education,” said Friedman.

Newly elected AASA officers will begin their terms on October 1, while the new AASA Governing Board members will commence their tenure in July. The Quakertown Community School District is thrilled for the opportunities and ideas this honor will bring to our students and staff. Congratulations Dr. Friedman!
