Strayer Middle School and the QCSD proudly recognize a remarkable group of students who have earned membership in the prestigious National Junior Honor Society (NJHS). These students exemplify the very best of scholarship, leadership, service, character, and citizenship, serving as role models for their peers and the entire community.
To qualify for NJHS, students must demonstrate academic excellence, maintaining Honor Roll status each marking period. This achievement requires at least three A grades in core classes and no grade lower than a B in any subject. Beyond grades, NJHS students show academic integrity, completing all homework, classwork, and assessments honestly and striving for knowledge for its own sake—not simply for a letter grade.
Equally impressive is the character these students display. NJHS members consistently uphold positive behavioral qualities, respect school policies, and communicate effectively and respectfully with advisors and peers. Their reliability, honesty, and integrity shine through in every aspect of school life, from attending meetings to completing service hours without prompting.
Leadership is another cornerstone of NJHS membership. Students lead by example in classrooms and across the school community, promoting school spirit, guiding peers, and initiating activities that positively impact others. Their ability to influence and inspire makes a lasting difference in shaping a supportive, inclusive, and engaged student body.
NJHS members also demonstrate exceptional citizenship, actively engaging in civic responsibilities and showing a strong understanding of justice, freedom, and respect for the law. They participate responsibly in all school and community activities, modeling maturity and accountability.
Finally, service is a key expectation of NJHS students. Each member completes a minimum of five service projects, contributing at least 20 hours of volunteer work to both school and community initiatives. They approach every opportunity with dedication, cooperation, and enthusiasm, including participation in school-wide fundraisers such as the annual Activity Night.
“These students embody the highest ideals of our school and community,” said Dr. Matthew Crater, Strayer Middle School Principal. “Their scholarship, character, leadership, citizenship, and service set an inspiring example for everyone. We are proud to celebrate their accomplishments and look forward to seeing the impact they will continue to make.”
Dr. Crater, along with 8th Grade House Principal Mr. Smith and Superintendent Dr. Friedman, celebrated the students’ induction into the Society and recognized their outstanding efforts.
Membership in the National Junior Honor Society is more than a recognition of achievement—it is a commitment to excellence, integrity, and service. These students are not only excelling academically but are also shaping the future of their school and community through their leadership and dedication.
The Quakertown Community School District congratulates all NJHS inductees and thanks them for their outstanding contributions to the school and community.
