School Counselor

WELCOME TO STRAYER GUIDANCE

The mission of the School Counseling Program at Strayer Middle School is to provide a comprehensive program that addresses the academic, personal, social, and emotional, development of all students. As school counselors, we provide assistance for "at-risk" and special needs students, as well as students performing below grade level. The role of the school counselor is to be an advocate for all students by enhancing the overall school climate. Through our Strayer Strong program and a collaborative approach, we work to create an environment where effective learning can take place. This environment will enhance academic achievement and student potential. As school counselors, we work in partnership with other educators, parents/guardians, and community contacts to support students. This partnership will help ensure that all students at Strayer Middle School have the opportunities they need to acquire the knowledge and skills to meet their highest potential, become lifelong learners, and responsible, contributing, citizens in our society.

Our goal as school counselors is to provide a comprehensive guidance program that will assist all students in acquiring the skills, knowledge, and attitudes, needed to become effective students, responsible citizens, productive individuals, and lifelong learners.
